Councils for Local Health Development
The Councils for Local Health Development are an institutionalized channel for citizen participation in the Network of Public Health Centers. These councils are open to all users of the public health system and to social, community, territorial or other organizations, which may be composed of users and non-users of the public system. They are also made up of representatives of trade union organizations and / or representatives of civil servants. The councils are established in all primary care settings. The Health Centers are responsible for communicating to the council by request of those responding to the general regulations for Citizen Participation of the Public Management, issued by the Ministry of Health. To hold a managerial position in the council, the individual must be a user assigned to the establishment, the chair of the agency being a representative of the users. Likewise, the board safeguards a healthy balance between the participation of representatives of users, officials and local organizations.
