Memory and Citizenship
?Memory and Citizenship? is an initiative implemented by the Peruvian civil association ?Japiqay?, with support of international non-profit organization ?The Engine Room?, and its aim is to increase awareness among citizens about the negative consequences and effects that corruption has on the country?s development, as an effort to strengthen and intensify the fight against corruption and impunity. The program consists of a digital repository that contains documentary memory of the corruption cases registered in Peru between 1980 and 2017. The information contained in the repository was collected and made public by the civil association. This digital tool allows citizens to have full access to truthful and objective information regarding corruption cases. The available data is grouped in three general categories: cases, actors involved, and documents. To facilitate research and information acquisition for the citizens, the repository contains searching tools and filters that can be activated to have access to specific data. In addition, all available documents -including official reports, court transcripts, financial records and testimonies, among others- can be downloaded in a PDF format.
