Sector and Territorial Consultations of the Plan El Salvador Seguro
The El Salvador Seguro Plan was developed in a participatory manner with the aim to design a strategy against violence and crime as well as guarantee access to justice and protect victims. Consultations sought to collect proposals from territories and grassroots social organizations. 298 people were consulted in the 100 municipalities of the country that were implementing their Local Citizen Security Plans. Among the participants in consultations and forums were Municipal Mayors, representatives of the Municipal Councils, and members of Local Committees for the Prevention of Violence. The sectoral consultations were organized in 14 collective interviews with representatives of organizations of people affected by insecurity such as victim organizations, women and youth organizations, transporters, farmers, employers, trade unions, schools and relatives of persons deprived of their liberty. As a result of the consultations, the Plan identified five priorities and 124 priority security actions.
