Citizen Dialogue on Constitutional Amendments
The Citizen Dialogue on Constitutional Amendments was a set of citizen assemblies made by the federal legislative power in conjunction with the National Secretariat of Public Management of Ecuador, to discuss and report on the constitutional amendments under evaluation in Congress. The Citizen Dialogue covered 67% of the territory of Ecuador. As an example, in Lomas de Sargentillo, a canton in the province of Guayas, this dynamic grouped the citizens to discuss and analyze each of the 16 proposals around 11 topics of national interest. It has also been carried out in other cantons in the provinces of Loja, Tulcán, Pichincha and Manabí, becoming a space for citizen interaction where the arguments and criteria on the Constitutional Amendment constitute the essential tool for discussing the proposal.
