Chile Neighborhood Program
The Chile Neighborhood Program aims to contribute, with an integrated and participative method, to overcome poverty in precarious settlements throughout the country by improving housing conditions, environmental quality, and residents' social and labor opportunities. To this end, the program seeks to complement and coordinate the financial resources and technical capacities of the Ministries and public services with those of the private sector and the civil society. The aim is to make these tools available to citizens living in these settlements, and to create projects for poverty alleviation at the local level. The program also seeks to strengthen community organization and participation, so as to ensure its leading role in the design and implementation of the plans and projects that involve and impact them.
