Deliberative Council for the Worker?s Support Fund

The Deliberative Council for the Worker?s Support Fund was instituted on January 11, 1990. It is a collegial body, tripartite and of equal representation, that manages the Worker?s Support Fund. It is comprised of worker representatives (four central unions), employer representatives (four central employer centers) and the government. Representatives of the Ministry of Labor, of the Ministry of Social Security, the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply have a seat in the council. The organ?s functions include developing guidelines for programs and for resource allocation, monitoring and evaluating their social impact, proposing improvements on legislation regarding employment and income, as well as monitoring the administration of the fund.
