First National Dialogue: "Bolivia towards the 21st century"

The First National Dialogue "Bolivia towards the 21st Century" was convened by the Bolivian national government in 1997 with the objective of promoting the debate between political, social and economic actors in the country and defining issues of common interest. This dialogue was organized around four central themes: opportunity, dignity, institutionality, and equity. The institutions attending the dialogue represented the civil society and the political system. A document of consensus was drafted with concrete proposals for public policymaking. The complexity of the socio-economic and political situation required the management of resources and technical support of the international community (United Nations Development Program, the Latin American Development Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank).
