Popular Consultation "Change of name of the boulevard Hugo Chavez"
The Mayor of Ilopango organized the Popular Consultation ?Change of name of the Boulevard Hugo Chavez?. 1,520 people participated; 1,208 voted in favor of renaming the boulevard to San Bartolo. The rest of the votes varied among six other proposals. The late Venezuelan leader received only 13 votes. The Municipal Code includes a consultation mechanism and stipulates that at least 40 % of inhabitants must petition such a consultation.
