Popular Consultation of La Concordia
The Popular Consultation of La Concordia had as its purpose to decide which province La Concorida would belong to. The Consultation was held in 2012 and was framed within the provisions of the Constitution of Ecuador. On this issue more than 23 000 people voted whether the Municipality of La Concordia should belong to the Province of Santo Domingo de las Tsachilas or the Province of Esmeraldas.
