Cantonal Council for the Protection of Rights

The Cantonal Council for the Protection of Rights is a cantonal body with broad participation from society whose purpose is to formulate, monitor and accompany policies for the protection of rights in an articulated manner with the National Councils of Equality. The Cantonal Council for the Protection of the Rights of Guachapala is one of these councils. It has been established as a body at the cantonal level that enjoys legal status under public law and organic, functional, administrative and financial autonomy. It exercises its attributions of formulation, observance, monitoring and evaluation of the municipal public policies for the protection of rights, articulated to the Public Policies of the National Councils for Equality. It is the coordinating entity of the Comprehensive Protection System of Guachapala canton. Both the Guachapala Council and the rest of the cantonal councils exercise powers in formulating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating public policies related to gender, ethnic, generational, intercultural, disability and human mobility in Milagro canton.
