Permanent Parochial Commissions for Equality and Gender
The Permanent Parochial Commissions Equality and Gender is a body composed of representatives of the State and general society, aimed at ensuring gender equality in the implementation and elaboration of public policy at the parochial level within Ecuador. This Commission is part of the institutional structure of the National Council for Gender Equality. It has been approved through the Law of the National Council of Equality. It makes decisions and carries out deliberations about the public policy in its given fields of intervention; however, its decisions are non-binding. Its main function is to transversally incorporate the Equality and Gender approach into territorial development plans and land use planning, programs, projects and in general in all the norms, acts and resolutions of the municipality.
