Citizen Labor Council

The Citizen Labor Council is a collegial body comprised of state representatives and civil society whose purpose is the dialogue, deliberation and evaluation of public policies in the area of work. It is promoted by the Executive Branch through the responsible Ministry. It meets at least twice a year. It has as one of its functions to appoint representatives for the National Assembly of Good Living, the highest level of representation for society in terms of planning the Ecuadorian State. This Council carries out deliberations and makes decisions on issues related to labor issues. However, these decisions are not binding, but rather are put forth for consideration by the National Government. This Council is situated within the orbit of the Ministry of Labor Relations, who by 2017 had already organized a Second Citizen Labor Council, in the city of Portoviejo, with an approximate participation of 100 people.
