Tu PoliciApp RD
Tu PoliciApp is an app for mobile phones created in 2018 by the Dominican National Police. This digital tool allows citizens to report criminal activities to the Police, and to anonymously contribute to the investigation by sending videos and photos related to their reports. The anonymity that a digital medium allows is meant to protect citizens and to increase their participation for a more effective guarantee of security and the protection of rights. The app also provides geo-referenced information about police stations, direct access to the emergency line (911) and a ?panic button? for victims of gender-based violence to request an immediate police response.
