Body for Interlocution and Coordination with the Indigenous Movement

The Body for Interlocution and Coordination with the Indigenous Movement was created within the framework of the Protocol of Relationship and Coordination signed in January 2019 by the Unit for the Search for Missing Persons (UBPD, acronym in Spanish) and the indigenous peoples of Colombia. This body is made up of representatives of indigenous peoples from various regions, and its purpose is to advise the Unit for the Search for Missing Persons in the formulation of plans and methodologies to search for people reported missing in indigenous territories, and initiatives for nationwide diagnosis regarding experiences of resistance and disappearance of indigenous people under the Colombian armed conflict. Additionally, it contributes to defining the search plans and methodologies for the search for missing persons in the context of the Colombian armed conflict and helps deciding the way in which the National Census of Indigenous Persons Reported Missing and the databases with geographic information on graves, burial sites and illegal cemeteries, among other projects, will be financed.
