Participatory Roundtable of Children and Teenagers from Villavicencio

The Participatory Roundtable of Children and Teenagers from Villavicencio was created by the Mayor's Office of Villavicencio, and is coordinated by the Secretariat of Social Management and Citizen Participation. Children and teenagers between 7 and 15 years old from different districts of the city participate in it. In order to participate, they have to submit proposals in the framework of a public call and those with the best proposals are selected to be part of the roundtable for a limited period of time. The members of the roundtable discuss issues of their interest, especially public policies for children and teenagers, but also policies on, for example, culture, sports and the environment. The roundtable seeks, on the one hand, to enable children to influence the political agenda of their city, and on the other hand, to develop their leadership skills.
