Citizen Oversight Commissions for the School Nutrition Program (PAE)
The Citizen Oversight Commissions are monitoring bodies that can be created in numerous institutional areas in Colombia on the basis of the legislative framework adopted in Law Nr. 850 of 2003. The School Nutrition Program (span. PAE) also forsees the creation of citizen oversight bodies of optional and voluntary character at the local and regional level. To form a PAE oversight commission, a group of citizens must propose and register it in the Municipality, where its members receive training and support from the administrative staff to carry out the observation tasks in the implementation and budget execution of the PAE Program, in collaboration with the School Nutrition Committees that must be created in each institution that makes use of PAE resources.
