Citizens Caring for Peace
The program "Citizens Caring for Peace" (span. Ciudadanos al Cuidado de la Paz) was developed by the Colombian Chapter of Transparency International, with the support of local organizations in the Cauca and Caquetá regions. The objective was to develop monitoring capacities with citizens and local communities to follow up on compliance with the Peace Accords at the local and community level. For this, workshops and local working groups were developed with organizations that work in the territory, and together with the neighbors and citizens of the communities, different aspects of the Peace Accords were evaluated, especially taking into account the transparency of public information and risks and non-compliance due to the increase in violent acts and persecution of local leaders. The result of this monitoring exercise was compiled in a report published by Transparency.
