Colidérate. Technology for leaders
Colidérate is a civil society initiative to protect social leaders, activists, journalists, and defenders of the environment and human rights, who are being systematically assassinated in the face of the denial of the Colombian state. At the end of 2017, Professor Paloma Martínez from the municipality of Chigorodó, called an interdisciplinary group of young people to work on an interconnection platform to protect social leaders. The project came to Movilizatorio, the organization that helped them consolidate the application within the framework of the Saying and Doing project. To generate security alerts, the team used the Circle of Six - Circle of 6 platform, developed by The Guardian Project, of the United States. The application was translated into Spanish and conducted a pilot test with 60 social leaders. The application arises from the idea of ??self-care and prevention, works in such a way that the person who feels in a situation of danger can activate a panic button at any time and thus alert their nearest circle.
