World cup of equality

The World Cup of Equality was an initiative that sought to promote an agenda on gender equality issues taking advantage of the conjuncture of the World Cup in Russia 2018. It was a coordinated process and promoted by Datasketch (Colombia), Feminist Economy (Argentina) and Feminine Soccer (Peru). It consisted of different spaces in which educational, informative aspects, social networks and sporting events were involved. A Hackathon was carried out in Buenos Aires, which was later replicated in Bogotá, Pasto and Lima, where data was collected and the information dissemination strategy was established. In addition, soccer tournaments were played with women and LGBT + teams. Later, a virtual World Cup parallel to the World Cup of Russia 2018 was held, through the hashtag #MundialdelaIgualdad, in which each country that played a match, also had to face gender equality issues: sexual and reproductive rights, anti-discrimination laws, figures of feminicide, educational and wage gap, equal marriage, and legal abortion.
