Humanitarian Refuge for the life of social leaders
The Humanitarian Refuge for the life of social leaders was a democratic initiative from civil society, coordinated between different human rights organizations at the national level, who made a presence in a transitional camp located in the Plaza Santa Maria of the city of Bogota, since April 28 to May 2, 2019. The Refuge set itself four objectives: To inform and sensitize the citizens; carry out an exercise of political control over the national government; propose collective protection measures; and finally inform the international community about the systematic killings of social leaders that have occurred since the signing of the peace agreement between the national government and the FARC in 2016.
