Demarginalize

The "Desmarginalize" project was created within the framework of the Development Plan "A Better Bogotá for Everybody". This participatory space of innovation was implemented with the aim of improving the quality of life of citizens in certain areas of Bogotá through the artistic intervention of walls (which increases the value of the respective house), in addition to the creation of social support programs and training workshops (eg, on stucco and painting), and the improvement of public services. The project is carried out using a participatory methodology that consists in four phases: the diagnosis, the community integration, the agenda setting and deliberation of a schedule, and finally, its implementation. Until 2017, this innovation was implemented in 15 neighborhoods of the city, benefiting circa 9,000 people and transforming around 10,000 facades.

?

Formalization: is the innovation embedded in the constitution or legislation, in an administrative act, or not formalized at all?

Frequency: how often does the innovation take place: only once, sporadically, or is it permanent or regular?

Mode of Selection of Participants: is the innovation open to all participants, access is restricted to some kind of condition, or both methods apply?

Type of participants: those who participate are individual citizens, civil society organizations, private stakeholders or a combination of those?

Decisiveness: does the innovation takes binding, non-binding or no decision at all?

Co-governance: is there involvement of the government in the process or not?
