Energy Impact
Energy Impact is a program for competitive public innovation by the Ministry of Energy, in a team effort by the Laboratory for Government, whose purpose is to initiate the working together of Chilean and foreign entrepreneurs, to incubate the best solutions and transform them into public policies on energy matters. The challenges of this initiative are: how to improve the access to and use of renewable energy in micro, small and medium enterprises to increase their productivity; and, how can the energy needs of homes and neighborhoods by met using efficient solutions. This instance is part of the Chilean energy policy elaborated on in 2015 by the Government of Chile in which it was established as a goal to make energy in Chile sustainable, inclusive, competitive and sustainable. In 2016 Energy Impact closed its application period, marshalling 494 ideas from entrepreneurs from Chile and around the world.
Institutional design
