Be kind to the Amazon
The initiative Be kind to the Amazon (Portuguese Seja Legal com a Amazônia) was developed by representatives of agribusiness, environmentalists and international organizations. It consists of an online form, whereby citizens can send an email directly to the brazilian Vice-president, to the Minister of Justice and to the Attorney General of the Federal Public Prosecution Service demanding greater investments in operations against organized crime in the Amazon. The goal is to influence the government, in order to support measures against land grabbing, deforestation in public forests, theft and destruction of Brazil's natural heritage.
