Operation "Love Serenade"
?Operação Serenata de Amor? is a project initiated in 2016 by citizens involved in technology and data science in order to monitor the reimbursements made by members of the Chamber of Deputies based on the Assessment of the Parliamentary Activity Exercise (CEAP), using ?machine learning? techniques. The artificial intelligence created, named Rosie, works like a Python application that automatically reads receipts presented within the CEAP of the Chamber of Deputies. Rosie calculates a probability of irregularity and a list of justifications for that result. The probabilities of irregularities automatically identified by Rosie are, for the moment, reviewed by collaborators who submit in the form of a complaint following the procedure of the Law on Access to Information for the Chamber of Deputies and are subsequently published. Up until March 2017, after three months of implementation of the techniques developed, 629 complaints were sent to the Chamber of Deputies totaling 378 000 Reales and in five cases deputies were ordered to return the funds.
