Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) Review Debate
Debate da Revisão Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA) (lit. Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) Review Debate ) was an online debate held by the Ministry of Justice between October and November of 2016 to gather input to draft a bill to reform the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), creating new deadlines for the adoption process, deals with affective sponsorship, foster care, international adoption and voluntary delivery. The goal of the debate was to target possible discrepancies between the text of the Statute and the existing adoption processes. The first month of the debate received over 10.000 visits to the platform and 1.000 comments on the proposed text. After gathering input, the text would be sent to the National Congress.
