Network Dialogues
Diálogos em Rede was a set of roundtable discussions organized by the Ministry of Culture, in 2015, with prominent figures working on cultural issues in Brazil. In total, around 5 roundtables took place in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Porto Alegre and Boa Vista, representing the 5 regions of the country. They were also live streamed on the Internet and after the discussion could continue online through the Ministry of Culture's platform called "Cultura Digital". The discussions were guided by 7 premises: 1) the social participation process; 2) accessible communication, engagement and information dissemination; 3) rethinking the National Council for Cultural Policies; 4) decentralizing the participation and decision-making processes; 5) acting in independent networks; 6) proving effectiveness of participation and 7) facilitating processes of participation. The goal of Diálogos em Rede was to form the basis of a collaborative policy management at the Ministry of Justice after Minister Juca Ferreira was nominated, including the creation of a Gabinete Digital (Digital Cabinet), the redesign of the National Council for Cultural Policies, and the definition of a new model for the Conferência Nacional de Cultura (National Cultural Conferences).
