E-Citizenship

The E-Cidadania (lit. E-Citizenship) program aims to stimulate and facilitate the greater participation of citizens in legislative, budgetary and supervisory activities, as well as those that represent the Federal Senate, through the internet. It is a digital portal open to citizen participation, where citizens can make suggestions on laws in progress and on subjects of public hearings, while also proposing new laws and overseeing the work of senators. It is divided into three sub-portals linked to the Federal Senate?s main tasks. They are: E- Fiscalização (lit. E-Monitoring) ? that monitors the Brazilian budget and administrative actions of the Senate; E-Legislação (lit. E-Legislation) - that proposes new laws and amends existing legislation or projects in progress; and E-Representação (lit. E-Representation) ? where citizens can express their opinions on issues of interest to the society. This tool was developed and is managed directly by the Federal Senate.
