Popular Consultation Miranda 2019
The objective of the Popular Consultation Miranda 2019 was to submit to a popular vote the approval of the transfer of resources derived from the Law of Coexistence for Security and Peace to the communes of Miranda. With this objective, 824 electoral centers were installed to vote in the territory of the 295 communes. All residents over 15 years old were allowed to participate. In the voting process, 435,256 people participated, and it was carried out with some irregularities and a high number of abstentions. Finally, with 83.9% of the votes, it was approved that the resources of the Miranda Police collected through the Law of Coexistence be transferred to the communes for local projects.
