Working Group for Citizen Participation
The Working Group for Citizen Participation was a collective space created within the framework of the 2nd Open Government Action Plan. This group was in charge of advancing in the fulfillment of commitment nr. 1.1.: "Strengthening participatory culture in Uruguay" of said plan. To this end, it was convened by the Agency for Electronic Government and the Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC), inviting representatives of: Ministry of Social Development (MIDES), National Institute of Youth (INJU), Office of Planning and Budget (OPP), Municipality of Montevideo, Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic (SDH), Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment (MVOTMA), Institute of Political Science of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic (UdelaR), the organization Everyday Woman representing the Open Government Network. It also had the support of UNICEF. One of the main actions initiated by this Working Group was the creation of the so-called "Citizen Participation Catalog", a website that brings together participation experiences from across the country.
