Environmental Reports UY
The app for smartphones "Environmental Reports UY" was developed by the civil society organization COENDU (lit. Conservation of Native Species of Uruguay) with the aim of promoting compliance with Uruguayan regulations on the protection of native flora and fauna. In addition to containing informative and pedagogical resources for users to better understand the natural resources of the country, the app has reporting tools to inform the police and the Ministry of Housing, Land Management and Environment (MVOTMA) about incidents and non-compliance. Reports may concerc, for example, illegal hunting and fishing in protected areas or of endangered species.
