Commissions of Citizen Control
The Commissions of Citizen Control were dedicated to monitor compliance with the recommendations made by the National Office of the Comptroller General to the Ministry of Agriculture and to the Ministry of Finance. After training workshops, citizens in the commissions selected the cases to be scrutinized with corresponding investigations and different monitoring tools. Tools included the revision of legal and budgetary documents, as well as interviews with authorities, and media research. Finally, they produced reports that were presented at a public hearing and disseminated to the press in coordination with other civil society organizations. In addition, the commissions drew up recommendations and forwarded them to the appropriate authorities for each case. In some instances, these authorities had even requested them themselves.
