Plan "More Encarnación"

The "Encarnación Más" Plan (lit. More Encarnación) aims to develop two plans for the city of Encarnación: the Sustainable Development Plan and the Urban and Territory Development Plan. Both plans are connected and the development of them has been requested by the Municipal Urban Council of Encarnación. Its execution was delegated to the international organization "Urban Ecosystem" and based on different mechanisms of participation: workshops on socialization and discussion of background documents, consultative workshops with different sectors (children, adolescents, representatives of public institutions and civil organizations, binational institutions, political candidates, neighborhoods), the development of pilot projects for the use of urban spaces by university students, and personal and on-line surveys with the inhabitants of Encarnación. This process showed the need for an updated and detailed map with information on the condition of the streets and buildings in the city centre. Finally, a web platform, open to contributions from citizens, enables thematic or geo-located contributions. It allows the contribution of one?s own ideas or commenting on others? ideas. All these mechanisms led to the drafting of the Sustainable Development Plan and the Urban and Territory Development Plan and their implementation is now under the control of the Municipal Urban Council.
