Environmental Sanitation Boards
The Environmental Sanitation Boards are community organizations that contribute to the development of local sanitation programs directed by the National Environmental Sanitation Service (Servicio Nacional de Saneamiento Ambiental, SENASA). Its members consist of users or direct beneficiaries of the works carried out in the community, who represent the rest of the population. The activities of its members vary from monetary or labor contributions to supporting the development of local sanitation programs. Together with SENASA, the sanitation boards are responsible for finding the right service providers and for managing the local sanitation systems.
