Advisory Board for Environmental Management post COVID-19

The Advisory Board for Environmental Management post Covid-19 was convened in 2020 by the Ministry of the Environment to discuss proposals for post-pandemic environmental management. Due to the preventive measures in the context of the pandemic, the meetings take place on a digital platform. The objective of the deliberative table was to write a document with suggestions regarding key actions contributing to a sustainable economic recovery after the crisis triggered by the pandemic and social equity. Additionally, the initiative seeks to evaluate the actions of the Ministry?s environmental plan, in light of the new normality generated by the pandemic. Representatives of civil society organizations, international organizations, the academia, and the private sector participated in the advisory table. The general topics that the Ministry of Environment pointed shall be discussed at the meetings are: Sustainable economic development; environmental financing; climate change; environmental governance; soils, biodiversity and forests? ecosystem; environmental education and culture; water security and oceans.
