National Youth Network for Sustainable Development Goals

The National Youth Network for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was created by the Ministry of Social Development of Panama within the framework of the Youth Plan 2020-2024. It is a network made up of young people from different provinces, who design and carry out initiatives in line with the SDGs, thus helping Panama comply with the commitments made in the framework of the 2030 Agenda. The platform seeks to articulate and empower young people from different provinces, so that they broaden their knowledge about the SDGs and are included in public policy design. The members of the network meet in Regional Youth Meetings, which take place in all the provinces of the country in the period from August to September 2019. The purpose of these meetings is for the participants to prepare the so-called ?Plan of SDG Youth Action ?, that is, a set of actions that young people will develop in their Provinces, Counties and Regions, with the support of local institutions. The foresaid plan must be, after the meetings, delivered to the President of the Republic and the Ministers of State.
