Observatory for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The Observatory for monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was designed within the framework of the government's long-term Strategic Plan as a proposal to integrate academics in the process that leads to reaching the goals set by Panama in the framework of the 2030 Agenda. The University of Panama agreed to the implementation of this policy, for which in 2017 it signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations. The purpose of the Observatory is to monitor compliance with the commitments assumed by Panama in the United Nations General Assembly, as well as to organize events focused on the SDGs.
Institutional design
Formalization: is the innovation embedded in the constitution or legislation, in an administrative act, or not formalized at all?

Mode of Selection of Participants: is the innovation open to all participants, access is restricted to some kind of condition, or both methods apply?
Type of participants: those who participate are individual citizens, civil society organizations, private stakeholders or a combination of those?
Decisiveness: does the innovation takes binding, non-binding or no decision at all?
Co-governance: is there involvement of the government in the process or not?
