Civil Society Consulting Groups (IDB)
The Civil Society Consultative Groups (ConSoCs) are spaces created by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as mechanisms to establish dialogue and communication with civil society. They exist in several countries where the IDB is active and are made up of representatives of civil society organizations, who collaborate and can be consulted in all thematic areas worked in by the IDB. In this way, the IDB can convene groups according to specific or general issues, aiming at improving the impact of their projects for the social and economic development of the country with the input of civil society. In addition, ConSoCs are intermediaries between civil society and the IDB, for example by disseminating information and calls for other more general consultation bodies. In Panama, the ConSoCs are made up of representatives of 18 civil society organizations, who contributed their perspectives regarding various Bank policies, mainly the Country Strategy. In turn, the IDB provided representatives of organizations involved with training sessions on the subjects ?institutional training strategies? and ?project management?.
