Advisory Council of the Oversight on the topic Malvinas

The Advisory Council of the Oversight on the topic Malvinas was created in 2010 by Law 836. Its purpose is to study the current status of the Argentinian sovereignty claim over the Malvinas Islands, its progress and setbacks and the existent government policies in this regard, as well as to propose and carry out carry out initiatives related to this subject, in coordination with the Government of Tierra del Fuego. The Advisory Council is made up of a representative of the provincial Executive Power, who presides over the body; a representative of the Provincial Legislature, two representatives of the Ushuaia and Río Grande Centres for Ex-Combatants, a representative of each political party of the province that requests to take part, representatives of the universities and institutes of higher studies of the province and representatives of non-governmental organizations whose work is related to the subject of interest of the Council and are interested in participating.
