Municipalities on the Spotlight
Municipalities on the Spotlight in an online platform that monitors and reports on who integrates the municipalities in Guatemala and whether or not there are acts of corruption occurring on them. This initiative, developed by the independent journalism company ojoconmipisto.com, is meant to shed light on 40 municipalities in Guatemala. Each municipality was questioned, through requests for access to public information, on their budgets, findings, settlements and sanctions in audits, criminal cases and complaints as well as contracts and the companies registered in the procurement procedures.
Institutional design
